Cross Country Movers operated a happy move from start to end. So far I can Remember, there were four crews sent from the company after signing contract. The movers came up with all kind of supporting tools and appliances necessary for packing and wrapping process. Having successful packing of every individual item, the lugged those on to around ten feet large truck. No garbage was available in the truck and it seemed new, clean enough to make a client satisfy and so did I. They were punctual and maintained schedule to deliver. Very happy with the service received by these gentlemen, we were becoming very frustrated when the move was not going... read more our way and we began to lose hope that we would actually be able to meet our deadline. We had a specific day on which we needed to be moved into our new apartment and it increasingly seemed less likely that we were going to make it. With only two and a half weeks left we gave these movers a call and literally sat back and watched them work their magic!

Within the first two days the were able to organize everything into boxes and cleared out the basement which was the messiest part of the house. The rest of the time they had structured boxes and crates full of clothing and appliances on top of each other in the trucks so as to make the most out of the limited space they had in each truck and also to ensure all the things were fixed and would not fly everywhere on the road.

The final day of the move was the hardest for us as our house was just about empty, like the first day we ever walked in and it was like saying goodbye to our home for the last few years. We had so many memories in this house and the only thing we had that maintained their sentimental values were our belongings that were being transported. As you can see some of the things in the move were very valuable to us, and it takes a special company to allow you to trust them in handling of those belongings. read less

However, cross country movers managed to bring everything here unbroken and even unscratched! they even treated my mother politely though we all know how hard can it get to stay calm while an elderly person tries to make requests most of which you hardly understand and then he or she gets mad on u when u do something wrong and so on. Honestly we were ready for some things to break but we were not going to make a scene out of it since we realized just how much china and glassware we actually had to transport. Luckily, we were in the hands of some of the most professional movers out on the market and they managed to prove us completely wrong and move everything without a single mark.

They began by placing several layers of bubble wrap and cloth in each of the boxes. They had these wooden and plastic crates instead of ordinary boxes which were not sturdy and could easily bounce against each other and crack. Within their custom crates there were fillers you could slide in to make sure everything stays into place, we received that as an add on to ensure the safety of the glassware. When our things arrived my grandmother had looked at those boxes first and foremost, she had a big smile on her face as everything was in perfect condition. If you are need of transporting valuable or fragile goods and want a company you could trust in, call these guys you will not regret it. read less

I just moved from NYC to Fallbrook in San Diego County.  I used Cross Country based on the great reviews... read more on Yelp and elsewhere even though they are thousands of dollars less than he estimates I got from Bekins and Atlas.  Usually less expensive things are lower quality but this isn't the case for Cross Country.  The one downside was the move took a week longer than the other companies but considering how much money I saved it was worth it.  My sales rep was Richard and I spoke with him and his associates many times during the move process.

This was my first move using a moving company.  I packed and boxed most of my things myself but had Cross Country pack the more expensive/large things like computer, big TV and furniture.  Standard insurance for all moving companies is free but also provides only a tiny fraction of the replacement cost.  I bought additional insurance but this only applies to what the movers pack. I'm not fully unpacked yet but no need for a claim so far and I don't think there will be.

Cross Country did not send an estimator to the apartment.  I worked with Richard to figure out how much stuff I had (difficult before packing it up).  As it turned out, estimators from other moving companies came by and gave a higher estimate of the quantity than I originally decided.  Richard revised my estimate upward based on this and it turned out to be right on the mark.  The price increased a little but not much.  Having an on-site estimate is very helpful if you can get one.

Cross Country has business arrangements with local moving companies.  On the NYC side, Uru Maya was the local company who brought my stuff to the warehouse for loading on to the cross country tractor trailer.  They were superb.  Gonzales and his crew were more careful and meticulous than I hoped.  Super friendly, informative and competent.  Can't say  enough good things about them.  The things they packed were very well protected.  The move was hard, since I was in a fourth-floor walkup but no complaints from the crew.  Every box and item was inventoried and labeled by the movers and a master inventory list is kept.  This was very reassuring and I was able to check off each item as it arrived here in Fallbrook.

Francisco and his delivery crew here in Fallbrook were also excellent.  They came two days before the end of the estimated delivery window.  The roads here in the hills are narrow, twisty and steep and that's true of my driveway as well.  They got the truck here fine and brought everything into the house in under an hour.  I was given all the time I needed to unpack and inspect the insured things in boxes like the computer.  They unwrapped all the furniture and took away the moving materials of everything that was unpacked.

Moving is a very stressful experience but using Cross Country made it less so.  I got calls directly after the NYC pickup and Fallbrook delivery from Cross Country to see how the move went and if I was happy.  John, the Quality Assurance Manager, also called me after delivery to see how the move went.  He asked if I'd leave a review on Yelp.  I think so highly of Cross Country I joined Yelp so I could leave this positive review. read less

The next day a gentleman came in the very early morning.  We received an economical rate that was bearable for us. Therefore we compromised with the rate. The guys blew my socks off by the diligence, time sense and well behavior. All my belongings were moved without a single glitch. It was one day ahead of schedule, we got our consignment.

I worked primarily with Jake J., who was responsive, honest, and patient. He guided me through the process and followed up with me after we spoke on multiple occasions. When I asked him about a cheaper quote that I had received from a different moving company (they do their best to match quotes), he was honest with me about that particular company's reputation, providing me with links to unbiased and credible reviews (which were consistently poor and unfavorable). I know that some people may think that Jake was just trying to get my business, but he told me this: "Even if you don't use us, I would urge you not to use them. I'd be happy knowing that in the end you are in good hands even if it's not us." The main thing I gained from my interactions with Cross Country Movers was more knowledge. Moving can be stressful and confusing, but after speaking with Jake and asking him all sorts of questions, I feel much more confident in making moving decisions and choices. I truly felt taken care of with Jake. He was like my moving guardian angel!

The only reason why I didn't end up going with Jake and Cross Country Movers was because my dad and brother are actually helping me out (the most cost effective option for me!). to ship my 1 bedroom and possibly my car to the South Florida area.

I had been going back and forth between both states for some time now and was honestly getting tired of it.

Had a good vibe about 1 spot that I called but when they emailed me there was a lot of extra service fees attached and I began to lose trust. I later called Cross Country Movers. From the initial phone call I had

a good feeling they weren't trying to pull a fast one on me. I like the fact that you can pay upfront here and they don't have

some tactical method of adding stuff on later. Shipping my car and my things proved to be more affordable than

I thought with this place. I'm glad they're so passionate about moving because like I said I'm not.

The movers arrived and were very upbeat. They wrapped wooden furniture items to avoid in scratches. They also had a covered for my car that was put on to insure if a rock or something hit it on route that it would still remain dent free. The insurance that was offered here put me at ease. Nothing was missing or damaged........ not even a scratch :) The only concern that I had was in San Antonio, I had 5 guys wrapping and moving my belongings but in Fresno, only one. This guy was skinny but strong and knew his trade but I felt bad because he could have used at least one extra guy. Overall, the experience was better than expected because my belongings came early. The first day was the most troublesome, having to move everything in the living room to leave space for the movers to come in and work. Dan picked up, I explained my situation, and not only did he save the day (and calm me down), but he kicked off what was the smoothest, easiest, most stress-free move ever. The cost was straightforward, especially since he sent an estimator to my apartment, so they knew exactly what I'd be moving (no surprises or hidden fees after the fact), and Dan continued to work further to get the number within my budget. I had to store my items for a few months once landing on the west coast, and that went off without a hitch--in fact, after a billing miscommunication (for the record, storage through CCM is free for the first month, afterward, you're charged an affordable monthly fee), Dan went above and beyond to fix the issue and bring the price down. When I was ready for my items to be delivered, they were sent promptly on a truck, arrived at my door with two extremely friendly, helpful guys, who unloaded and unwrapped my items within an hour, with not a single item broken or missing.

I was very surprised when these guys were truly able to deliver for us, we had a lot of needs... read more and expectations and they were all met by these wonderful movers. My parents have very keen attention to detail and they like things to be done the right way, and failure is not really an option for them. They were not concerned too much about the cost of the entire moving process but just wanted to make sure whoever we hired would be experienced to handle such a relatively large move.

We had about five rooms in total that needed moving as well as several closet spaces and various other small parts of the house that contained furniture. We did as much of the packing as we could but when they movers arrived they went beyond, they duct taped all the boxes a certain way that made it easy to open later. They also labeled all of the boxes from whose room it was in and the type of material inside of it, this made things so much easier when we were unpacking everything.

These guys are the very best at what they do and we witnessed that first hand, out of all the companies we contacted for help they were the first ones that promise to deliver. And they did, very efficiently and we did not have a doubt in our mind after they arrived at our place. After four days and some change, we had managed to empty out the entire house. All of our stuff was immediately shipped to the new location and we received no later than three days after the move was completed. They told us about the entire sales process and the manner in which they actually perform the move. It was fairly organized and very efficient, we received an estimator at our house early in the morning one day and a few hours later backup arrived to get started on the move.

It took them about two and a half days to empty everything out from the house, including the large sets of furniture. They posed the biggest challenge as we had disassembled everything when we first brought them in here. They patiently did the same even though we did not even have the instructions of how to rebuild it. They were also rude to my parents during the packing process, they were not interacting or communicating with me. Cross Country Movers is actually located in the Los Angeles area. As a result they did not arrive at my... read more San Diego condo until noontime and without the required floor covering which was clearly outlined in the condo's moving requirements which was emailed to the company. In addition the moving requirements clearly stated that movers were allowed the hours from 8 AM to 6 PM to accomplish the move. As a result the movers were unable to complete the packing and loading on the day of the move. They had to return the following day to complete the move. Fortunately I had the next day free but had to pay the condo HOA an additional $150 for the second day. So all of this is the bad news.

The good news is that my household goods were transported from San Diego to Southport, NC on time and in excellent condition. This was the first move ( out of 7 previous moves ) where not one item was lost or broken. The packers were meticulous in packing everything including crystal glassware and china. It was a pleassure to work with these guys who were pleasant and respectful as well as very hard workers. My grandfather clock was packed in a wooden crate and arrived in perfect condition.

I can highly recommend this moving company. The only caveat is that you should note that it will take time for them to get to San Diego and if you have a large amount of household goods it may take them 2 days to pack and load. read less

Naturally, I thought moving out of here would not be that big of a change, especially given a fact that I got a cool job offer.  All I needed to do was get all my belongings there somehow. Prior to this adventure, I hadn't even been aware that  there is such a thing as cross country moving company. I thought I was supposed to rent a moving truck and do it all myself, like in the movies.

Luckily, my dad has a little more experience with moving home than I do, so he pointed it out to me that I should consider hiring professional moving helpers. He told me that a friend of his works for Cross Country Movers and that he can guarantee that they are a legitimate, reliable moving company. I gave these guys a call and got the whole process into motion. The moving team packed all my belongings, loaded on a truck in few hours, and immediately got started on the delivery process.

They even brought their own moving boxes and other packing materials. I liked wardrobe boxes a lot.  When the moving truck stopped in front of my new residence, I thought that was the end of the trip for them. However, they ended up taking all the boxes into the house and unpacking them. And the best part is - they did all this for a reasonable price. Not once did I feel like I was overcharged.

I couldn't have asked for a better service. Cross Country Movers are truly amazing. In the meantime, I have realized that weather here can get a little too hot for me, so I am planning on moving again. When that day comes, I will definitely make sure I have these wonderful workers by my side.

The first week was the more hands on period when the things were being boxed up and packaged into crates, then being loaded onto trucks. Moving is definitely not one of the funner things to do on a Monday but for these guys it is just another day at the office, they helped make our transition into a new home a much easier process than we could have ever dreamt of. I assume what every moving company says on their slogans has to do with help and moving support. Cross Country makes sure you understand the meaning of the phrase 'moving comfort'. At first when I heard it, I laughed a little, thinking it was simply a marketing trick. Let me tell you, as a businessperson moving from one coast to another, from one town to the other, whose frequent moving escapades have left a mistrustful 'scar', I can tell you that these guys have completely surpassed my expectations. It didn't matter how quickly I needed to move, or the fact that I required some heavy objects to be transported, these guys have found a solution to every little obstacle. They had only left me with a 'to-do' list when I arrive to my destination, making sure everything else was taken care of. They went so far as to ask me if I wanted transportation arranged for my car as well, and I had no idea they also ship vehicles! Their delivery was immaculate. None of the bigger, heavier objects were damaged in transport (which I had the misfortune of experiencing in the past). Great care was taken of all of my belongings, they treated me and my personal stuff with such respect. I feel like that's very rare in the moving industry these days.

PRE MOVE:

After calling Cross Country Movers, I got connected with Dan B.  He was assigned as my long distance move specialist and would be with me through the whole moving process.  He walked me through the process and made it clear and simple.  He gave me a quote over the phone.  I researched other companies and many of them have to come to do an in person estimate which is a hassle.  There was no pressure to go with them and the customer service was excellent.  Cross Country is also registered with the Department of Transportation, so there are legit.

Because this was my first time doing a move, I was a bit anxious.  I called Dan many times, but he was always nice and friendly.  He was always available to answer my questions.

My quote was about $3,700 for a 1 bedroom move, 1 living room, and 1 bathroom move (price is dependent on how much stuff you have).

My car shipping was: $975

It sounds a bit pricey, but it saves on stress of doing a road trip with a U-haul.

MOVE DAY:

The day of the move, everything went very smoothly.  I chose the package to pack things myself and have the movers come.  The movers were fast and friendly.  They wrapped and moved the big stuff for me.  I just had to make sure to pack all my small miscellaneous objects.

My quote was guaranteed, so everything I moved on my list would be guaranteed at that price.  I actually was able to pack less boxes and was efficient with my packing, so in the end saved $300 from my original quote.

POST MOVE:

My stuff got to my destination on time.  The movers gave me an update on where my stuff was every couple of days, so this definitely reassured me.

It had been such a headache trying to tackle the whole thing down by ourselves and they were a huge help in getting all our furniture cleaned out of our old place and into the new one. The first two days they focused on emptying out the bigger pieces of furniture first and then packed up the smaller things.

They had special crates reserved for different materials such as fragiles, clothing, and even special collectibles that we wanted to be shipped safely. These guys showed genuine care and effort in all aspects of their job, we were very happy with the men we were assigned. They worked countless hours without stopping just so they could get a head start on the next room.

The basement posed the greatest threat as it was sort of dark and hard to navigate around in it. They managed to maneuver inside and move things around as they deemed fit, in about three hours the entire basement was empty and we had never seen it cleaner before. The gentlemen even helped us clean off the dust and spider webs that had built up over the years of our things just sitting there. Ultimately, such a pleasant service offered by these guys, would definitely recommend calling them. read less

We did inventory for a 1BR move and the cost was super reasonable - for a move of our size it was done by item so I suggest you make an accurate inventory list before you call to ensure you get an accurate quote. It does take up to 14 BUSINESS days for your items to get there, so plan ahead for the interim period.

On moving day, the NYC team was FAST and super attentive. Diego (foreman) went above and beyond to ensure that our glassware and dishes were packaged safely. Within an hour or so, everything was done and in the truck. We received prompt e-mails/texts giving us updates on the progress of our inventory which helped in the interim. Finally, the team in LA was equally as fast and attentive. Jose (foreman) checked in and made sure that everything was placed where we wanted it to be. Everything arrived in great shape, not a scratch on any of my wine glasses/decanters or glassware. I'm sure the logistics for larger moves (homes/3 BRs etc) are more complicated, but if I have to make any more cross country moves I will be using CCM again for sure. Moving is definitely not an easy thing to do and is a process that requires long man hours and labor. The first thing we noticed as an exceptional sign that these guys were great workers is that they arrived very early on the day our move was scheduled to begin. They knocked on the door around eleven and informed us that they were on scene whenever we were ready to begin then the man walked out and patiently waited for our signal. As soon as we had done organizing everything and packing our personals, we invited them in and they began the move.

The entire process was a lengthy one, it began on the bottom floors by moving out couches and the television set which required at least two people to carry each thing. They managed these all in a few hours and during the evening they managed to clear out a single bedroom on the top floor and left the rest for the following day. They completed the move before the fourth day including transporting everything and having it begin its transit to the delivery location, could not be happier with the results. read less

Price was very fair if not better with the service.  No hidden or additional charges.  The Cross Country team was professional, friendly and demonstrated good customer service.  The communication was incredible!  I very much appreciated the reps contacting me to update every stage of the transport from scheduling to the pickup, transport, ETA, delivery and post delivery.  On top of it, the service was fast.  The original ETA and my own personal expectation was  6-7 days but it only took 4 days.  The pickup was mid-morning Monday, I flew out Tuesday and the car was here by that week Thursday morning.  The car was delivered in the same new condition as it was picked up.

Patrick was also my point person through out my entire move which I appreciated so that I was always speaking with someone that knew all the details of my move.

The movers on both sides of my move were superior. I especially give a lot of credit to the gentlemen that moved me in Brooklyn. My point person was super friendly, explained the process to me, and had delightful conversations with me. They were beyond helpful and careful with my belongings. When my things arrived in LA, it was a short turnaround to get my things into my apartment (I used the company's storage facilities in NY which was free, until I found a place in LA). The movers in LA were also super kind and made sure that I had all of my items.

Also, I used this company to move my car from Georgia to LA and everything was done speedily and with proper handling.

I found Cross Country Movers on Yelp and I found that they had the most competitive pricing by a few hundred dollars.
