Santa Ana7/15/2015Receiving a reference to contact these guys for help on a move was the best thing that had happened this... read more week. It had been such a headache trying to tackle the whole thing down by ourselves and they were a huge help in getting all our furniture cleaned out of our old place and into the new one. The first two days they focused on emptying out the bigger pieces of furniture first and then packed up the smaller things. They had special crates reserved for different materials such as fragiles, clothing, and even special collectibles that we wanted to be shipped safely. These guys showed genuine care and effort in all aspects of their job, we were very happy with the men we were assigned. They worked countless hours without stopping just so they could get a head start on the next room. The basement posed the greatest threat as it was sort of dark and hard to navigate around in it. They managed to maneuver inside and move things around as they deemed fit, in about three hours the entire basement was empty and we had never seen it cleaner before. The gentlemen even helped us clean off the dust and spider webs that had built up over the years of our things just sitting there. Ultimately, such a pleasant service offered by these guys, would definitely recommend calling them. read less

Santa Ana6/30/2016Everything went as planned in our dealings with this pleasant group of movers. I've only moved twice and the last... read more company was a little too aggressive and had issues whenever I ask questions or asked them to be careful. They were also rude to my parents during the packing process, they were not interacting or communicating with me. They were not doing their work legitimately and it seemed like they didn't like what they were doing. However, when I moved for the second time and called this company and loved my experience with them. They were the total opposite compare to my old movers. They interacted with me and constantly asked me where I wanted out stuff to be placed, like the beds and couches. About Santa Ana
Everyone Is Moving Cross Country to Santa Ana – And So Should You
Over the recent years, young people in America have been making surprising (and surprisingly good) choices when it comes to moving to another state. They are leaving large, overcrowded cities behind, and moving to more vacant areas, breathing new life into them.
One of the newest additions to the list of young Americans’ favorite places to live is Santa Ana. It has everything they are looking for – an urban area with lots of shops and bars intermingled with nature and a touch of history, a culturally diverse population and a bunch of opportunities for outdoor activities.
The People of Santa Ana
Surprising as it might seem, Santa Ana is pretty densely populated. It is, in fact, the fourth most densely populated city in the States, right after New York City, San Francisco, and Boston. The population of Santa Ana is very racially diverse. A vast majority of Santa Ana residents are of Hispanic or Latino descent, followed by white people, Asians, and African Americans. Median age in Santa Ana is 29, which makes its population considerably young.
Education in Santa Ana
The official motto of Santa Ana is “Education first”. Santa Ana Unified School District features almost forty K-5 elementary schools, nine intermediate schools, eight high schools, one charter school, and five special schools. The city is also home to Santa Ana Community College and California Coast University. If you are considering moving to Santa Ana with your kids, you won’t have to worry about them receiving high-quality education.
Cost of Living in Santa Ana
Santa Ana is not the cheapest place on Earth to live. It exceeds the United States average on every point, including housing, utilities, transportation, and health, to name a few. A 900 square feet furnished home in an averagely-priced area rents for around $1,800 a month, while monthly utility expenses usually revolve around $130. A monthly ticket for public transport costs around $70.
Speaking of Public Transport…
The city has a few freeways, which connect it to the rest of the Orange County. The public transit in Santa Ana is operated by the Orange County Transportation Authority. Learn more about public transportation in Santa Ana.
Biking in Santa Ana
Luckily, if you don’t like relying on public transport, Santa Ana can offer wonderful biking tracks as well. Our personal favorite is the Santa Ana River Trail . The trail runs alongside the Santa Ana River and is around thirty miles long. The authorities are planning on expanding it to be around a hundred miles long, which will make it the longest multi-functional track in Southern California.
The Weather in Santa Ana
The weather in Santa Ana is pretty magnificent. Each year, Santa Ana sees around 14 inches of rain, with only around thirty days of precipitation. The highest average annual temperature is around 83 degrees in July, while the lowest is 47 degrees in January. Once you start packing for your relocation to Santa Ana, consider organizing a garage sale and getting rid of all the winter clothes you won’t need.
What Makes Santa Ana Special
Once you move to Santa Ana, you are probably going to want to explore the city. Since Santa Ana is relatively large, we have decided to give you some pointers for your Santa Ana adventure:
- Discovery Science Center, also known as the Discovery Cube, is a science museum with over a hundred hands-on exhibits made to cater both to children and to adults.
- Santa Ana Zoo houses over 120 different species (more than 350 animals) and is bound to spark interest in everyone who visits it.
- Santa Ana Fire Museum is an homage to Santa Ana’s brave firefighters. Its exhibits include vintage equipment and 19th century memorabilia, as well as modern, state-of-the-art fire trucks.
- Dr. Willella Howe-Waffle House and Medical Museum is an 1889 house built in Queen Anne style. One of the first female physicians in the area used to live here.
Did Someone Say Waffles?
The food scene might not be what makes Santa Ana popular, but it is nevertheless amazing. Once you settle down here and finish unpacking, you might want to go out and explore Santa Ana’s restaurants. Here are some great ones to start from:
- Bella Cocina – This is an inexpensive Mexican/Italian restaurant with great variety on the menu. We suggest trying their Chicken Fajitas.
- The Kroft – This restaurant does a great job of mixing the casual gastropub feel with the best locally brewed beers. Make sure you try their poutines – crispy double-fried French fries with cheese curds and homemade gravy.
- La Biryani – If you are a fan of Indian food, this is the place for you. They serve authentic Indian cuisine with just a little bit of their own touch. Our recommendation – chicken tikka masala and lamb curry.
- Yojie Japanese Fondue – If you are more into Japanese food, head to this restaurant, where you can design your dinner according to your own taste.
- The Scotchery Restaurant – This steakhouse is a little bit on the expensive side, but it is very much worth it. Should you decide to eat here, our suggestion is to try their tomahawk steak.
The list could go on forever. If you want to find out more about Santa Ana’s restaurants, read their reviews, and learn about other customers’ experiences click here.

They were able to provide advice regarding every aspect of the move!
I moved to a new apartment in Marina del Rey, CA from Seattle, WA. If you have never dealt with state to state move, it’s definitely a challenge. It was great to have help of guys from Cross Country by your side. They all proved themselves as great professionals who were able to provide advice regarding every aspect of the move! I enjoyed our interaction a lot, even considering the fact of moving being stressful. One of the reps called after the delivery was made and asked how everything went. Definitely couldn’t complain!
