I needed to get to Boston in matter of weeks. I was searching for some companies that do long distance... read more moving and didn't have much luck and didn't even know where to start and what to look for. I only know I needed a reliable company that would not risk losing any of my jewelry cargo during the process of me relocating my business and opening a new jewelry store. It seemed a good business move to relocate there and have my friend and me alter shifts at the shop for the first few months until the business takes off. From the Cross Country Moving Company manager I learnt that in the moving industry, items of our cost are considered to be articles of "extraordinary" value. He recommended making special boxes, crates as he referred to them, and send out my shipment to Boston in that manner. We also opted for an additional insurance. He explained how the possibility of items getting lost or stolen during the moving process is much lower. Perhaps it was the tone of unconvincedness in my voice that he suggested I try this custom crating deal so everything is safe and protected. It was more expensive that the usual moving, but let me tell you, it took a huge load off my mind.



In case you were wondering how it all went down, here is the deal. Crew from CCMC uses one-of-a-kind wooden crates, pre-fabricated boxes, and corrugated fiber-board containers to keep the items safe while in transit. They have specialized crating and shipping experts also secure shipments with pallets or skids to provide additional stability and handling. I was amazed to see the level of professionalism they have in their approach, and if I ever needed the same transfer done across the country, there is only one company I will call.  After I've finished my move, I recommended it to a friend who only moved house, not his business, but he was genuinely pleased with their services and the way of doing business.



Here is what I found out as well, and hence recommended it to a friend for his moving process: whether it is antiques or artwork, motorcycles or jet engines, your favorite chair or department store display cases, or anything in the world you want to ship, the guys from CCMC are willing to do it. And not just willing, but they have experience and professionalism. If you have sensitive cargo like I myself did, you have no worries that it will arrive in any other condition than the one you yourself handed over to them and entrusted them with.



As a professional in a business world myself, I was extremely satisfied with a qualified and polite staff at Cross Country Moving Company, and very pleased to find out that they treat everyone with the same amount of respect, no matter whether they are a high paying customer or not. I had to move my car from Atlanta... read more to San Diego by a specific date, and the auto shipping company I was initially going through encountered some problems on the road which was going to delay my car's arrival significantly. You can only imagine how frantically I was calling around different auto shipping companies after this.

Despite me calling on a relatively short notice, CCM was able to accommodate for me and quickly provide me with a range of pick-up dates. They were able to pick my car up on the first day provided and it got here within six days. Upon drop-off, the driver also allowed me to check my car thoroughly for any signs of damage (which there wasn't any of).

While the shipment was relatively pricey, I would say it was much worth it given their honesty, level of communication, and high quality of service - and especially because of the time crunch I was in. Thanks CCM for such a pleasant experience! read less

When I called in, I spoke with Matthew who explained everything to me that made clear sense. If a moving company gives a price based on weight, then they are a broker and will subcontract to an actual moving company who has to re-weigh everything. I get there are some benefits to hiring a broker such as them finding the absolute lowest price in the industry however this is mine and my families belongings that are going across the country so I wanted to make sure I was in good hands. So this company was the right choice for me. They did not change price on me in the middle of my move or anything tricky. read less

I have moved five time in six years and have used Gerold Movers every time.  They ALWAYS arrive on time.... read more They are very polite (they do like their cigarette breaks though ) but they take their time with my furniture and unlike other moving companies, who take their time wrapping furniture several times to up the price, these guys wrap what's necessary. I have nice furniture but by no means does everything needs wrapped a hundred times.  My furniture has never been scratched by them. There was something missing that we didn't get initially from movers.  We have been dubious choosing a mover in spite of having everything cleared verbally after having conversation with some movers.

Assessing all opportunity that would be provided by them, I decided to call Cross Country Movers. In reply my phone, they again called me and sought permission to send an estimator for making quotation.

The next day a gentleman came in the very early morning.  We received an economical rate that was bearable for us. Therefore we compromised with the rate. The guys blew my socks off by the diligence, time sense and well behavior. All my belongings were moved without a single glitch. It was one day ahead of schedule, we got our consignment.

I got married to a girl who has all her family in the other state in New York and after graduation she needed to go back to her city. It was always her plan. I moved to New York from Los Angeles  having no family and there was no brainstorm to decide what I have to do. Half of my friends didn't want me to move anywhere, the other half - was worried and giving me million number and referrals of moving companies. My wife and I were browsing for weeks. A lot of calls, quotes...some of the guys from the companies were coming to our house to see what we have and make a fare price. But none of these companies didn't give me a trust. One day a good friend of my make me seat next to her and showed my this moving company.

Preparation and getting a quote.

I called to that phone number and very nice girl picked up the phone and she answered all my questions. She gave me appx price and I was pretty happy with it. I scheduled to have movers to be arrived in a week and my package was included packing all my stuff into the boxes, kitchen stuff, wrapping and unwrapping (all general things).

Day of move.

The movers showed up on time, 15 minutes earlier to see if there was any better way to get all out furniture down more quicker. They checked one more time the house, asked if I want them to pack anything else, or if there was any special instructions. i said no, They can start taking all stuff out. It took them about 4.5 -5.0 hours to pack everything, loading the truck, shrink wrapping and taping the boxes. The trip for the movers was no to fast, they spent about a week to get there including traffic and road conditions. Pure guys...

The movers from this company are truly some of the best in the entire industry, we witnessed this first hand... read more throughout a time period of just under two weeks. The first week was the more hands on period when the things were being boxed up and packaged into crates, then being loaded onto trucks. This took the most energy and a lot of time but the movers withstood the fatigue and long hours and made sure to do a proper job.

Moving is definitely not one of the funner things to do on a Monday but for these guys it is just another day at the office, they helped make our transition into a new home a much easier process than we could have ever dreamt of. In all candor if it was left up to us things would have definitely screwed up or gone wrong and we would just make a huge mess out of a simple process that Cross Country was able to do.

Their organization and communication styles were on par as they would manage to talk to each other and request help or equipment in different rooms. This is a very key aspect of making moves an easy job as you get things done faster with less complications and these gentlemen has mastered that task. I insured some special things (mirrors and furniture) with Chris, who was also kind and careful. They kept the price as low as possible, and we didn't end up paying for extra boxes or extra packing. For pick-up day, we had an orderly, helpful group of people come and finish the packing of furniture (and even a piano) and took great care with our things and did a terrific job. Each item (box or furniture) is tagged with a computer number, and can be tracked. At each destination, the movers brought our things where they belonged with care. From the very beginning of this move the day that an estimator arrived alongside two workers, we knew we were... read more in good hands and these men were experts of their trade. Moving is definitely not an easy thing to do and is a process that requires long man hours and labor. That is precisely what these men provide as a service, as well as a very personable and genuine relationship with their clientele.

The first thing we noticed as an exceptional sign that these guys were great workers is that they arrived very early on the day our move was scheduled to begin. They knocked on the door around eleven and informed us that they were on scene whenever we were ready to begin then the man walked out and patiently waited for our signal. As soon as we had done organizing everything and packing our personals, we invited them in and they began the move.

The entire process was a lengthy one, it began on the bottom floors by moving out couches and the television set which required at least two people to carry each thing. They managed these all in a few hours and during the evening they managed to clear out a single bedroom on the top floor and left the rest for the following day. They completed the move before the fourth day including transporting everything and having it begin its transit to the delivery location, could not be happier with the results. read less

         We recently moved to Los Angeles because Californian weather simply suits my wife better, and we decided to hire someone to help us. I mean, it's not as if we could do it ourselves, really. I honestly couldn't tell you why we chose Cross Country Movers, we had our son do it for us, but he sure did choose well. The initial plan was for him to be there to welcome the movers and take care of the whole thing, but they insisted that we should know what is going on as well. Those were, after all, our things that were being relocated. So they explained everything to us in really simple terms. They didn't even mind repeating everything several times, since my hearing isn't the best.



           Anyway, my wife has this enormous collection of porcelain dolls she has been collecting ever since she was a girl. She was really worried the movers would accidentally drop them and break them. Which would be for the best, if you ask me, they just collect dust either way. Anyway, to my wife's joy (and my disappointment), it turned out that these guys had professionals who just deal with packing fragile things. So they really made sure the dolls were safe and sound. Such a waste of bubble wrap, I say, but whatever makes the lady happy. I was personally more concerned about the more practical things - would something get lost, or would someone steal some of our valuables, things like that. But these boys were really amazing. Everything arrived at our new home in LA in great condition, without so much as a scratch.



           I don't think we'll ever be moving again, since LA is pretty great, but if we ever do, we will call these people. For now, we have nothing but words of praise for them. read less

skeptical of any good or bad things I hear and like to judge for

myself. And predictably as you can tell from my rating I more than

loved the amount of enthusiasm and hard work these movers put in for

our move.

The first day began as the most difficult from the entire week, it was

the day the movers were first coming into our old place and getting

uncomfortable. They were not used to the tight corners and doorways

but took them just under an hour or two to adjust to the area, after

all it is a part of their job. Thankfully it did not post too big of a

challenge as they did not complain nor notice the lack of space after

a while.

Good news was that we were ahead of schedule and the actual labor part

of the move had finished quite early. The movers had lifted and hauled

everything onto the trucks and left it up to the drivers to carry

everything back to the warehouse or drop off location safely. From

there things would be double checked and shipped out to our new home.

We were so happy to find out that everything had arrived in one piece

and nothing had been damaged, they gave us a call just to notify that

the furniture had arrived safely. It was really cool of them to stay

in constant communication with us since they knew that moving is

definitely not something that is stress free. It was a big headache

both before and after the move, just the fact that it took us over a

week to clear everything out of the old place and into the new

apartment was tiresome enough. Thankfully we were in good hands and

these guys made sure our move was done in the proper way and also

I emailed "Jim Watson" on a Saturday and received an email within the hour! Jim assured me that he would go in first thing Monday morning and make things right. They were so gentle with all of our things as if they were handling delicate, priceless objects, but they really were not.They noticed for example that they were having a very difficult time moving the sofa with only two people, so they called their other partners to come and help them take it downstairs. I do not understand how anybody could have a negative experience with these guys, we called them maybe three weeks... read more ago to help us clean out and move our two story house. We had several long hallways and tight corridors that we anticipated would pose a difficult challenge to the movers as it would be harder to get around. Thankfully when they got there and realized the situation they had the tools to adapt to the situation and it was not a complicated issue.

Within a few days we had completed the entire paperwork process and had a supervisor come to our home to provide us with an on sight estimation of the length and cost of the move. They gave us several options of bundles or package deals that they had at the current time which included expedited transportation if we wanted to receive our things sooner and also insurance policies for the wooden and plastic crates. Boxes were another alternative however we were worried that they would not be the sturdiest option for shipping.

We ended up choosing the wooden crates for most of our clothing and furniture that was not fragile however the electronics and glassware we had double wrapped in their office made bubble wrap and put into plastic crates. These things were going to be flying on a plane for hundreds of miles and our main concern was merely that they were safe and did not break. Thankfully the actual length of the move was much shorter than they had told us, the packing and loading process took about four to five business days and by Wednesday or Thursday of the following week we had already began receiving our things slowly.

Ultimately we could not have imagined getting better results from choosing any other alternative company, the movers at Cross Country have been doing moving jobs for years and their experiences truly reflects from their work. If you want quality service it might run you a bit more on the pricey side but you get what you pay for at the end of the day. If you want a crappy job then you can go with some of the other mom and pop moving companies, but if you want the job done right and in a short span of time call these guys. read less

I was very surprised when these guys were truly able to deliver for us, we had a lot of needs... read more and expectations and they were all met by these wonderful movers. My parents have very keen attention to detail and they like things to be done the right way, and failure is not really an option for them. They were not concerned too much about the cost of the entire moving process but just wanted to make sure whoever we hired would be experienced to handle such a relatively large move.

We had about five rooms in total that needed moving as well as several closet spaces and various other small parts of the house that contained furniture. We did as much of the packing as we could but when they movers arrived they went beyond, they duct taped all the boxes a certain way that made it easy to open later. They also labeled all of the boxes from whose room it was in and the type of material inside of it, this made things so much easier when we were unpacking everything.

These guys are the very best at what they do and we witnessed that first hand, out of all the companies we contacted for help they were the first ones that promise to deliver. And they did, very efficiently and we did not have a doubt in our mind after they arrived at our place. After four days and some change, we had managed to empty out the entire house. All of our stuff was immediately shipped to the new location and we received no later than three days after the move was completed. I worked primarily with Jake J., who was responsive, honest, and patient. He guided me through the process and followed up with me after we spoke on multiple occasions. When I asked him about a cheaper quote that I had received from a different moving company (they do their best to match quotes), he was honest with me about that particular company's reputation, providing me with links to unbiased and credible reviews (which were consistently poor and unfavorable). I know that some people may think that Jake was just trying to get my business, but he told me this: "Even if you don't use us, I would urge you not to use them. I'd be happy knowing that in the end you are in good hands even if it's not us." The main thing I gained from my interactions with Cross Country Movers was more knowledge. Moving can be stressful and confusing, but after speaking with Jake and asking him all sorts of questions, I feel much more confident in making moving decisions and choices. I truly felt taken care of with Jake. He was like my moving guardian angel!

We had so many fragile equipment that we did not know how anyone could manage to transport all of them... read more without a single crack or scratch. Honestly we were ready for some things to break but we were not going to make a scene out of it since we realized just how much china and glassware we actually had to transport. Luckily, we were in the hands of some of the most professional movers out on the market and they managed to prove us completely wrong and move everything without a single mark.

They began by placing several layers of bubble wrap and cloth in each of the boxes. They had these wooden and plastic crates instead of ordinary boxes which were not sturdy and could easily bounce against each other and crack. Within their custom crates there were fillers you could slide in to make sure everything stays into place, we received that as an add on to ensure the safety of the glassware. When our things arrived my grandmother had looked at those boxes first and foremost, she had a big smile on her face as everything was in perfect condition. If you are need of transporting valuable or fragile goods and want a company you could trust in, call these guys you will not regret it. read less

We noticed that the gentlemen stayed for hours and patiently helped them unpack and store everything into their newly purchased home. They seemed to know what they were doing and had all sorts of tools and gadgets that helped them move heavier objects.

After we gave them a call they thanked us for taking the time to inquire about their services and then explained all of their prices, deals, and moving processes. From the types of boxes they used, to the length of shipping the belongings, even to the size of their trucks. They have a variety of selections for everything and even offer insurance policies in case of damaged goods, though we never needed it as they are very careful. No garbage was available in the truck and it seemed new, clean enough to make a client satisfy and so did I. They were punctual and maintained schedule to deliver.
